Ever Tried Yoga To Fight Off Pandemic Anxiety?

June 28, 2021
/

We’ve all heard it; we’ve even read it and watched it in movies. But it looks like some concepts just don’t dawn on our little minds until the very last moment.

It’s been said a million times that the solution to all man’s problems lies in traditional practices. And what could be more ancient and traditional than the Indian practice of Yoga?!

As several countries continue to battle against the pandemic of a war-footing, Indian yogasanas have been doing what they’ve always done best – improve people's health and their immune system. Recent surveys have shown that scores of women engaged in mindful yoga during the pandemic to keep anxiety and negative thoughts at bay. Well at least someone’s using history correctly!

How Yoga has, and can, help

During the past year when the world underwent quarantines, lockdowns, and whatnot, many women went through mental health challenges like anxiety and depression. Now although staying active and mentally alive in such a situation was a real task, it was essential to bring life back on track.

This is where Yoga stepped in and helped people adopt a healthy lifestyle. According to studies, the practice helped a huge number of women to fight off pandemic blues. More than 60% women worldwide took on yoga during the pandemic, and since then their lives have completely changed. About 85% percent women believe that whenever they felt even a tiny bit of mental discomfort, yoga came to the rescue!

Confirming the relevance of the trend, experts suggest that consistent yoga practice along with a balanced diet, good sleep, and a healthy lifestyle can not only strengthen the immune system, but also improve skin texture, provide a natural glow, and make you feel confident from the inside out. When something as simple as Yoga can do all that for you, why not engage in it more often?

What’s Your Yoga Style?

It’s funny how most of us spent our quarantines in yoga pants and joggers but only a few actually used those outfits for their intended purpose!

Jokes aside, there were quite a few people who engaged in the physical activity keeping the right style in mind. Athleisure was at the top of the list for quarantine fashion as more and more people preferred wearing stylish yet comfortable outfits while working from home. Not to forget, for women, style and comfort go hand in hand. An overwhelming number of women shared that ‘’dressing right’’ was critical to stay in the right mood. If nothing else, it ensured you wouldn’t skip the session (couldn’t agree more!).

To give a Few Final Words

In these tough times, the phrase "health is wealth" makes sense like never before! To battle illnesses, alongside the right medical treatment, you need a practice like yoga that’s extremely helpful and relevant. It's great to witness such an overwhelming response from women for the ancient practice, and we hope more people will realize Yoga’s benefits and make it a part of their daily life.
