A number of fans switched to a vegan diet after Jennifer Lopez claimed that it was responsible for her weight loss after giving birth to twins. Her diet however isn’t specifically vegan but curated based on what her body needs.
Lopez’s diet isn’t so much about the number of calories she consumes, it’s more about what she eats, why she eats it, and when. Her meals boycott processed foods and caffeine and involve mostly organic fresh foods and vegetables.
Taking Care of Her Body
Jennifer Lopez is a performer. A regular day in the life of the Jenny from the Block singer normally involves dancing and fitness workouts that consume a lot of energy. As a result of these energy-expending activities, Lopez is quite big on keeping herself hydrated which contributes to an important routine in her diet. She drinks at least up to seven glasses of water daily. Most of us would feel like we are about to explode from drinking that much water.
Her personal trainer Romero told People magazine that she needs to fuel her body properly for her rigorous lifestyle and fitness routine. It is a major reason why her diet has been tailored to her needs and also includes good quality proteins to promote muscle growth, something that was lacking in her plant-based diet.
Lopez loves her protein. When she spoke to Hello magazine, she said that protein is the go-to nutrient that fuels her muscles and keeps her full for longer. She makes sure to consume a sufficient amount of protein in breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
What Does She Eat In A Day?
Jeniffer Lopez starts her day with a protein shake or a smoothie, and she could also add oatmeal to the mix with some fresh berries.
Lopez is always excited about lunchtime. In her own words, she's starving by lunchtime. She satisfies her mid-day cravings with her favorite proteins, which include egg whites, white turkey meat, chicken breast, grass-fed beef, and fish, such as omega-3-filled salmon and sea bass, as her trainer, Romero told US Weekly.
He also added that she has a handful of nuts every day. The protein is served alongside a vegetable salad like kale, minced shallots, or crumbled queso.
Let’s not forget Jennifer Lopez is a mother to a set of twins who are already more than 12 years old. Dinner for her is mostly with family. Despite the avoidance of carbs, she eats some healthier ones for dinner like brown rice, quinoa, or sweet potatoes with lean protein and vegetables.
Jennifer tries to eat healthily but she’s very flexible with her diet and treats herself every now and then. One of her trainers, Anderson said that the singer doesn't need any extreme dieting because she consistently works out, which keeps her in shape.
Who said snacks can’t be healthy? Jennifer Lopez keeps hers healthy by snacking on fruits and vegetables. She also snacks on nuts almost every day which provides her with healthy fats.
